Athlete of the Week Scholarship Program

1.             TO APPLY:                Nominations are accepted on-line at www.wtad.com or www.1039thefox.com. In addition, all area school officials have a copy of the nomination form (cards). These can be completed and returned to STARadio, or to Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge.  The first weekly athlete winner will be chosen September 26th, 2007 and the final one will be chosen by April 23rd, 2008. Completed nomination forms can be returned to either Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge at 5333 Broadway or STARadio, at 329 Maine Quincy, IL 62301  Attn: Teresa.

2.                ELIGIBLITY:                Participation is open to high school seniors in the tri-state area. Children of employee’s of Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge and STARadio, (subsidiaries, sister companies and their successors as well) are not eligible for entry. Weekly winner will be based on nomination, grade point average, and community involvement. All weekly winners will be asked to submit a written presentation (at the end of the contest) as to why they are best suited to receive one of the thousand dollar awards.

3.                LIMITATIONS:  One entry per household per week.  Each student athlete is eligible to win only one “Athlete of the Week” honor. They are then qualified for the scholarship. All participants agree to be bound to these rules: Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.  Winner must be a high school senior currently enrolled in a public or private institution.   

4.             PRIZES:                One Thousand dollar scholarship awarded to one female student athlete and one thousand dollar scholarship awarded to one male athlete. Scholarship to be awarded following the banquet to be held in May 2008.

5.                CLAIMING THE PRIZES:                Scholarship winners must produce a valid driver’s license or a state issued ID as proof of identification, and proof of college registration.   In the event the scholarship winner decides not to accept the prize or not to attend college, it will be forfeited and another winner will be selected. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

6.                RELEASES:                Participation constitutes permission for Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge and STARadio without any further obligation to the scholarship winner, to use the winner’s name, likeness, voice and address for purposes of advertising and trade.  Scholarship winner must release all sponsoring parties and their parent suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies, and any subcontractors, employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives (the Releasees) of any of the above organizations, from and against any and all claims for losses or damages sustained by said winners arising out of participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance or use of the prize.

7.                WINNER’S NAME:                For the name of the winners of the Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge scholarship and /or a copy of the official rules, send a self addressed stamped envelope to:  Shottenkirk Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge Scholarship Rules, c/o Staradio Corp., 329 Maine, Quincy, Illinois, 62301.  Requests must be made within one year of the contest end date in order to be fulfilled.
